OK, I just wanted to get your opinion on this. I pretty much have decided NOT to install one on my pre-formed 800 gallon pond, but when I posted a question on another Forum, almost EVERYONE that responded became obsessed with the "bottom drain" thing. They gave me the impression that the world as we know it would come to an end if I didn't install this bottom drain!!! Here's the thread if you care to read it:

Anyway, what is your take on the Bottom Drain? Is it an absolute must? What are the other alternatives...................doing the vacuum thing once a month.........once a year??? How do you guys keep up with the "muck" that collects at the bottom of the pond? Thanks, Jimbo
