Unknown plant pest

Hi all!

I'm new to the forum & am a newbie with ponds. I just bought my first water lily plant, got it home and was about to put it in my pond when I saw a large number of jelly-like critters on the bottom of the leaves.

They look like clear jelly. Some are oval but others are cigar shaped and are bent into a "C" shape, almost like a very fat, stubby, transparent worm (may 1/4 inch long). The ends are rounded, not tapered like a worm and there are no antenae like a snaill (also no shell).

Couldn't find any photos of aquatic plant pests on the net to identify them. Any ideas what they are or if they would be harmful to introduce to the pond?

Pond details:
4x4' diameter & 2.5 feet deep
18 oxygenator plants (introduced a week ago)
12 small goldfish (introduced tonight)

Sounds to me like snail egg sacks. Not to worry if you want to have snails in your pond. I you don't scrape them off.

Take it to a nursery and they can tell you what it is and how to get rid of it if you want.
