I'm finding my snails out of the water and in the lawn in the mornings. Any
ideas as to why? |

Some aquatic snails have lungs and breathe at the surface
of the water. I suppose they could decide to go on a short walk about? Others are gilled and get their oxygen from the water passing over the gill. Some mammals will eat aquatic snails. Though I doubt they would go to all the trouble to remove them and then just leave them on the grass. k :-) |

I find snails from my pond lying around the edges. I've always assumed it
was birds that pull them out but perhaps not? Mel. "kathy" <> wrote in message news:f6a97aaa-21de-43f1-b268-... > Some aquatic snails have lungs and breathe at the surface > of the water. I could see a bird pulling a snail out of a shell,
maybe raccoons also with their flexible 'fingers'. Also see mammals crunching up the snail whole. Interesting mystery! |
