GigaNews apparently now is carrying this group, as I'm a Comcast user and
we get our news via GigaNews.

Actually, that is both true and untrue. Yes, I gather that most
customers of Comcast gets their news via GN now but some Comcast
customers get their news via Highwinds, who's servers that are dedicated
to Comcast, are not yet carrying the new group. I am not sure as to how
this is determined but I believe it depends on the locale and who
formally owned the various smaller companies that Comcast bought out.

This 'fact' is based on conversations I had with two former Comcast
Newsmasters recently. However, I don't know this for a fact myself so
don't quote me on it.

(As an aside, according to the same two former Newsmasters, the whole of
Comcast is supposed to switch over to Giganews within the next 3 months
once the current contracts with HW's expire.)

As it is a fact that Highwinds provides different server banks for
different ISP's, it seems that the Comcast, Cox and Roadrunner sections
have not yet been updated as of 5.30pm PST. No official ETA is available
from HW but it looks fairly close given that they updated some of their
non ISP outsourced servers in the last 24 hours.

Following up on this;

Highwinds are now carrying the group as of this afternoon.

This affects Cox, Roadrunner and Newshosting customers to name but a
few.
