My husband told me he has seen a snake living in the rocks around my pond. That gets me a bit nervous. How can I get rid of it?

What type of snake? Poisonous?

I would suggest calling the animal control people to remove it for you. If its not dangerous, however, I would just leave it there.

I don't know anything about snakes, my husband thinks it's just a garter snake. I'll have to try to look it up online.

Where do you live? Get some wildlife expert in on it if you are not sure but most snakes are often harmless depending on your location.

I.D the snake first. Garter snakes and black racers, glass snakes and most water snakes are not too much of a threat to fish and are entertaining to watch. Ponds draw them like other wildlife... He probably won't stick around long anyway due to activity.
