I just got a 50 gallon rubbermaid trashcan 2 weeks ago for $30.. picked up
the sterilite because it's "tote" shaped, 1/2 the height of the rubbermaid,
but the same number of gallon capacity, and in a pleasing black color no
less.

Might take the fittings off the rubbermaid I just added, and use the
sterlite instead. There was mention of bulkheads for adding hose
connections.. anyone would a bulkhead fitting that can be assembled with the
toilet flanges?

I can always use the rubbermaid to hold all my yard tools, since it's on
wheels, and will be easy to lug around.

Hi Garee - sorry to hear you're having so much trouble figuring this out -
IME, I would use bulkheads only - Is the Sterlite strong enough to hold the
gallonage (50) your tote will hold without 'bowing out of shape' too far? -
the bulkheads I use are foolproof so far (12 yrs) - I am sure they are
available in the US
Gale :~)

The sterlite looks to be the same or stronger then the rubbermaid.. and
since the rubbermaid is taller, and also has wheels at it's base, the bowing
out at the bottom is very pronounced.

I'm heading to the local farm supply place today to see if they carry
bulkheads. (Fingers crossed)
