Located outside Atlanta, Ga, have 3 ponds; one about 1,000, one about 180 gallons, and a 35 galllon pond; small two are preformed and the 1,000 is with liner. Have Several Koi; two grew to over 16" in the180 g pond; the reason for the 1,000g pond. Have a couple of water lilies, Iris, some marginals, going to soilless planting, also usin a lot of land plants, Impatiens, Mint, misc annuals. Thinking about converting the middle pond for a turtle, keeping the large one for the koi, little on is for plants and filtration. The pump from the large pon suports a very small waterfall(apporx 14") with a trickle steam to the upper little pond that flows back to the larger pond via the middle pond. the middle pond has it's own pump/filter as it was the original pond for several years prior to adding the large pond.
It has been an interesting hobby, hope to learn and contribute to the forum.
