Hi!

My family and I inherited our ponds when we moved house last year, now I've finished uni I want to get to grips with it.

We have a small pond which still contains this summer's doomed to never grow tadpoles, and a larger pond which holds our frogs, my koi, my mothers shubunkins and the last of the 70 odd fish we inherited - two sarasas and a roughly identified koi.

I'm planning on re-positioning our pond, which is going to take me a while, weakling that I am. But I hope that in the meantime y'all can help answer some questions I have!

Hoping that over time I'll learn enough to maintain the pond and prevent the fin rot epidemic we had from re-occurring.

Ghost

Hi and welcome Ghost

Sounds like quite a pond you've got there - how big is it?

Hmmm,

Its about 6x5ft, but only a small part of it is deeper than 2ft. Entirely too small. Dirty, empty planting containers etc, with an enormous Iris.

Its (un)fortunately really clear at the moment, which means I can now see all the grot. Including a neighbours ball, MIA since last summer...
