Someone posted that they bought a UV at Lowes. I looked at Lowes site. The UV they have is 9 w with a 3/4 inch inlet/outlet. Is that sufficient for a 1500 gallon pond? How is such a UV connected to the large pond hose?

If it were me on a 1500 gallon pond I would go fo a 40 watt. Most of these are 2” with unions.

i have the tetrapond 9 watt u.v from lowes, works well..it cleared my pond in 3 days when it was 500 gals dont know about 1500, but i m gonna wait till my 1100 gal pond turns green and use it, its starting now so about 4or5 days i'll fire it up. and it comes with 1/2" 3/4" and a 1" if its the same one.

o.k fish, i woke up saturday morning..could not see the bottom 6"of the pond... i put in some active media from my basement ponds filter, and 5 fish then hooked up the 9 watt tetra pond u.v..now its monday morning and voila... 2 days and i can see bottom.. theres still a slight green hue to the water, but it also has pond dye in the water, because its been full and it wasnt time for the fish to come out yet. now this pond is 1100 gals, not quite as big as yours but it is full sun from sun up to just a couple hours or so before sun down, but a 70 gallon skippy filter and a 9 watt u.v did this in 2 days.
p.s i still have dirt and clay residue rinsing off my stone.

I installed a UV clearifier, and it worked for me. I bought the UV clearifier from Lowe's and it works just fine. My water is now crystal clear after just a week of use. My Shubunkins seem to be healthier than ever. They eat well and move around the pond without any fear of my presents.
