Does an areation kit really make a noticeable difference?

There is a $20 discount on purchases of $59 and above until 6 p.m. tonight (July 6) from a website where I have purchased before and I have been eyeing an Airmax 2 stone aeration kit. Not sure I can name vendors here. There is no problem with the pond, but I am wondering how much it might improve the environment. The pond is about 1500 gallons.

Is it worth the $50?

Thanks.

We run four stones every night from dusk to dawn on our pond. The theory I went with is the plants are taking up oxygen at night, so adding oxygen during that portion of the cycle can't hurt. I think they also help stir up the fine debris and send it wherever your pond takes water to filter or skim. Plus - the fish live them! The form a conga line to seim though the bubbles as soon as they aerator turns on.

I know that when we got about 100 degree and the pond temp is so high, the fish were not happy and when I put the airpump in (normal indoor airpump), after a day, they came out and seems more active. Also, after I ran airpump for almost a week now, the algea seems to vanish. That can also be attribute to that my pond just finish cycling too. I'm thinking about getting an out door air pump now :)

There is no doubt that adding air to the pond is a good thing! Especially during the warmer months when less oxygen is disolved in the water.

Are 2 OK for my pond? Trying to keep costs down to appease the other half while doing something good for the fish.

Any special set up required? Sometimes the GFI trips. We've had the electrician out already. Would it put too much demand on the power supply? We have two pumps right now.

My pond is about 2200 gall. I have one airstone I bought from Amazon for about $25. One is plenty for my pond with the waterfall. Mine kicks up a lot of bubbles. I had thought of buying a 4 port one, but had I done that I think I would have to turn them off to see the fish - too many bubbles. One is good for me.

About 3 weeks after I added it the algae disappeared.

I would recommend one for sure. I like it so much I think I will be ordering another one as a back up when this one fails.

I've always heard, you can never have to much air:) I turn mine off when I feed, so I can see them. I run my bigger one in the summer and the smaller one all winter long.

I ordered an Airmax PondAir 2 stone kit. I hope it is not hard to put together. I am so not good with things like that.
