I need to vent about spawning

No but seriously...my koi is extremely pregnant and still has not spawned. It's the end of June!! She was about to spawn a couple of days ago, but she's so fussy that when she saw me, everything stopped.

My koi have also been coy this season in the love game. My boys have their sand-papery cheeks on, the gals are plump with eggs... and no spawning yet! I've seen a few chases, but they just kind of give up and quit. I don't need the mess, nor do I need more fish (although I think it is great fun to see a few surviving "pond babies"), but I would like the girls to get their eggs out for health and comfort at least. There is still time...
