JB's Pond

I created my 400 gallon pond during the spring and summer of 2013. The project began on May 17. I don't consider it to have an end date because there will always be things I want to add or change, as well as normal maintenance. I'm even considering making it a few hundred gallons larger. Because of my love of nature, I decided to install this pond in hopes of attracting frogs and toads as well as different types of insects. It also serves as a fantastic photography subject.

Here are a few of my favorite photos taken at my pond:

Nice progression, how is it holding up through our rough winter?

I'll let you know when it thaws out! haha. I don't have high hopes for my frogs after i found one dead a couple months back (wish it was a little deeper, had more plants, and wish I had an aerator), but I'm excited to get the pond going again!

I did a bunch of updating for my showcase over the past couple of weeks. Added all my new plants and fish, construction of my new pond, new photos, etc. I'm trying to keep it as up to date as possible. :)

JBtheExplorer updated JB's Pond

I've got a brand new 850 gallon (11' x 6') pond. It's mostly complete, but I'm still saving up to build a waterfall, which is why there is still some liner showing.

I previously owned a 400 gallon pond (8' x 4') that I installed in Spring 2013.

Before that, I owned this 30 gallon preformed pond with a couple Shubunkins and a water lily. I kept it for about three years and it did well.

Because of my love of nature, I decided to install my pond in hopes of attracting frogs, toads, birds, and different types of insects. The first season turned out well. It brought in quite a few frogs and toads, birds enjoyed drinking the stream water, and I even saw insects I normally wouldn't. It also serves as a fantastic photography subject. Here are a few of my favorite photos taken at my pond
