well I found out the reason my pond pump is tripping the GFCI. It's internal plastic thick rings were letting water inside the motor area. So I need a new pump. About 1K GPH. A while back I saw a post about Harbor Freight's low cost pumps, but went to their site and the largest they now have is 600 gph.

I was hoping someone could point me to a low cost, reliable pump (I guess that phrase doesn't always make sense, low cost and reliable that is).

Ideally, the pump would shut itself off when it detects low water.

Any ideas appreciated.

Laguna makes nice energy efficient max flow pumps. That will be my next one. Think I am waiting till my old pondmaster mag drive dies before I get one tho. The old thing keeps on ticking and ticking away. Not as good on energy as the Laguna tho.
