We have had a pond of some type for the past 20 years. Our current pond is aprox. 1200 Gal. plastic lined with a small water fall. Living in So. Calif. we have predatory birds so a light netting covers the pond to stop the water birds from eating the fish. Our pond contains aprox 15 koi and 5 red eared slider turtles. A small beach area with sand is available for the turtles to lay eggs and sun themselves. Large PVC piping on the bottom provides some hibernation shelter although this year with the warm weather the turtles have been active most days.

Welcome John to our little group at gpf=garden pond fanatics. The beach and turtles sound like a nice addition to a koi pond. Post some pics when you can!
