The Orioles are back

Well the Baltimore Orioles returned I have 6 males and 3 females that I have seen in the yard so far. They all have been at the stream already.

You have such a colorful array of birds! We get goldfinches and cardinals, but the majority of our pond visitors are sparrows and wrens. Nice little birds, but a bit blah in the color category!

I know one lady in town that gets Orioles for a few days .
She puts out orange slices for the birds

Get out the oranges and grape jelly! They nest where my daughter lives and she feeds them all summer, lucky kid.

No orioles here, but we have had countless robins and sparrows by the pond the past couple weeks. We also have cardinals in our yard and I *think* grackles, too, that showed up this week pecking in the grass for food after we mowed the lawn (brown bird with a bluish hue on its head). I LOVE that we have so much wildlife in our yard... though I'm not super-crazy about the skunks that visit a few times a week.
