I though I'd better update everyone on Val's latest .
As you can imagine Val is in alott of discomfort, the xray came about after Val's last fall as to use her words " my knee doesnt feel right"this is why we arranged it in the first place but we never dreamed she had chipped a bone in her knee ..
Anyway we are due to see Mr Househam Val's Neurogist on a routine MD check up next week , so the condition Val finds herself in at present cannot be discussed until then and it is only then that we will get to know the full prognosis of what damage she has done which will give us a better idea of as to where we go from here .
Can Val's condition worsten because of the damage to her knee and will she loose her mobility which is her main worrythis we dont know?
We need to know if in fact Val is strong enough to cope with the operation [she cant use crutches because of it due to no upper body strength ].
So the next question is one of physio and can it be done by me on her at home and if so what exersizes we need to know ..
Ultimately we also need to know that if Val can indeed go ahead with things.
The length of time we can expect a knee replacement to last would be our nxt problem I've heard approximately 10 years .bit it may very well be much longer nowadays
We also have to take on board Val's right leg which is withered in the callf area and is no where near as strong as her other leg.
Though Mr Housham isnt Val's orthapeadic specialist because she is her nuerologist she can then liase between the two and work hopefully for the best result in combatting this latest obstical to her health .
At the moment Val is being careful when out normally only to her Doctors at this moment in time, she is doing light physio therapy until we know more .
The rest of ther time Val is spending with her leg resting on the settee.
