Hi

Could anyone tell me what this is on the head of one of my goldfish? I have 5 fish in my 1000 litre pond and this is the only one that is ill.
Is it cotton wool or white spot or both, or neither

Any help would be grateful

Thanks

It may well be a case of costia which leaves a whitish haze over the fish if it was whitespot you would see the entire fish so afflicted also the fishes fins would be clamped,
Here at the moment at least we are only looking at the head being a problem area .
A good over the counter anti parasite treatment should clear this up
Has the goldfish any symptoms of clamping that has since taken place from when you posted, to make me change my mind and plumb for whitespot ?

Hi

Thanks for the reply

There are no signs of clamping. The fish is as normal as it could be. I have
4 other fish and there are no signs of this on these either. Would it be a good idea to
treat in a separate tank or just treat the whole pond of 1000 litres with anti parasite?
