Should I buy Skippy’s Bacteria to start a new 200 gal pond?

What happens if I don't?

I am going to use a Skippy filter(mini)

Thanks

the bacteria basically jumpstarts your bio filter...if you dont use it you just have to be more patient with your pond as it builds up the nitrifying bacteria...and you dont have to buy Skippys bacteria...your local fish store should have some commercial products that do the exact same thing

micrbelift filter innoculant gel is the best, you apply it directly on your filter media, it colonizes 8 times faster than most. thats your best jump start, then use any brand as your maintainence dosing. i use organica pristine pond its available at meijers; even walmart carries some, and most garden centers, lowes, and home depot too. different brands but they should all work
skippys also sells enzimes that are specially formulated to compliment his bacterias. you might try them also. i plan on it next time i go to his store.
theres definately something fishy about this forum!
