Hello everyone

I have a perrys sunburst lotus that has several tubers I would like to dig a small area out beside the pond and put a liner inside the hole. then put soil in the liner then add water . My ? is how deep would the liner with the dirt have to be so they would overwinter without harm to them. I live in northern Indiana zone 5.
