Has anyone made their own pump sock? Any suggestions as how to do so?
Thanks...Sharon

last year for my fountain i used a mini milk crate from the dollar store and a $5.00 furnace filter(the blue wood fiber ones at lowes, they do degrade but last all year) cut them to fit inside and a few twist ties to hold them to the walls of the mini crate. takes 10 minutes to put together.
p.s they will colonize beneficial bacteria too.
theres definately something fishy about this forum!

I have mine set into a black plastic water plant tub, It works well until the string algae finally gets to it. About once a year, I have to clean it.

i used it half the season never cleaned it... but i ran it with a small 425gal pump to a fountain, but when i pulled it out, man was it packed with crud. once youve cut enough to line the walls of the milkcrate cut the rest up and pack it in.
theres definately something fishy about this forum!
