Pondmaster 1500 Filter

iv had this pondmaster filter for a while now and my filter media is getting old so here is what i did let me know if yall think it will help the filtration, here is my filter it has to chamders or sections seperated by a grate [ATTACH]795[/ATTACH]
This is the bio media i made its 3/4" pvc and i drilled holes in it from what iv heard i think it will help let me know if im wasting my time thanks
what u think, oh yea i have a 650gal pond u can c it in "stouty's pond" :icon_smile:

for got a pic [ATTACH]800[/ATTACH] the rock is 2 weigh the filter down, when it gets full it floats

quite a bit more media...shoiuld be a big improvement
theres definately something fishy about this forum!

Good job with the pics ...does that filter just sit in the pond?

yea the filter sits in the deepest part of the pond thats about 2.5' deep and it powers 1 small WF and a fountain

Looks good to me. The more tubes the better. I have mixed feelings about the holes, but they can't hurt. Surface area is what makes them work. The anerobic bacteria attach to the surface and as the water flows over, they feed on the nitrates and nitrites.

oh ok i was thinkin about water flow would b greater through the tubes with holes but im a newbee to the diy filter stuff thanks for the info
