ok my fish are getting ulcers and i want to treat it but i dont know what medications to use because i have the fry in the same pond but separated. what can be used that wont harm the babies? also what can be used to remove string algae without harming the fry?

The string algae is healthy and good for the fish. Remove excess by simply reaching in and wrapping around your hand.
Place the sick fish in a hospital tank to treat them. A trash can with a new liner and an air stone works well. Keep it covered so they don't jump out during treatment. I would try salt first.
