Ok, this is my first attempt at a pond and it's gone way better than I thought it would. Started with a few small goldfish and after watching them grow, changing colors, you sort of get attached to them. Sounds corny but it's like any other pet.
Anyways, how do I keep them over winter? Outside is definitely out of the question since temps dip to -40.
I don't really want to set up an aquarium inside the house.
Can I put them in a large plastic container in the garage? It may go down to -5C a couple times over winter but it usually hovers in the 5C (41F) area.
Any ideas are welcome......thanks
What to do with my in winter??

its not corny.. we all love our fish! it depends how deep your pond is on wether or not they can stay outside...41* f is fine for fish.. but you just have to keep a hole in the ice for gas exchange if your pond is deep enough to not freeze thru. this is accomplished with a airstone and pump, and/or pond heater. you didnt say how big or,deep your pond is...this info would help... myself, i have a 800 gallon pond in my basement for my guys to winter in.
theres definately something fishy about this forum!

I guess my original post is misleading.
So to clarify...........the outside temp gets to minus 40 which would freeze my pond solid no matter what. It's only a 150G.
My garage is not heated but it is insulated and attached to the house. The garage usually hovers in the 5C (41F). Once in a while it does freeze a pop can but that's only when the outside temp gets really cold for a week.

You need a bigger/deeper pond!
