Is it ok to use a above ground pool liner for my pond.Im thinking it will add a little color and be a little different than the black liner

From what I'm reading here at the forum, black seems to be the idea color for a pond. When the aglae begins to grow on a black liner it takes on a more natural look. Also, a swimming pool liner may not be thick enough to last.

oldmarine is right. The other negative to using colored liner, such as light blue for example, is that you will see all and any of the poop/detrius that inevitably is at the bottom of your pond. Your pond will always appear dirty on the bottom.

Black is the standard because it enables you to see the color of the fish well. Whites and colors pop off of a black background.

Your pond (pool) liner will start turning turning every color but blue shortly after building the pond...and to be blunt will look like $h!t in a short time.. You wont be happy...get a pond liner! Thats why pond liners are black they help hide the films of alge, and such that will most assuradely build up
theres definately something fishy about this forum!

I agree with black being the most natural over time. Blue would be a huge mistake!:)
