I'm trying to buy a correct size pump for my waterfall.
I need to measure pump head. Is it the distance between
surface of water and top of the waterfall? or distance between
surface of water and inlet of the waterfall. I have a biofall where inlet
from the pump is about 1.5ft below the top of the watefall and water fills up
bottom to top. Any help would be appreciated...

I'd say it's measured from the top of your lower water body (pond) to the top of the water in your waterfall.

its from ponds surface to the filter falls inlet and every 10' of horizontal piping is equal to 1' vertical.
theres definately something fishy about this forum!

Head also includes the size and length or your pipe (friction) also the numbers od 45's and 90's you use.
