Ecosystem Fish Pond In Rochester NY

@EricV Hi Eric, sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I just found your question. This ecosystem fish pond is approximately 11'x16' , has a 25 foot stream and holds approximately 2,200 gallons.

No worries. Can I ask one more question? About how far below ground level is the water line? And what about the top of the liner (how far above water line does the liner extend). I had been planning to have a water line just an inch or so below ground level, but from what you've got there, it seems that to really blend things in an make it look seamless transition between pond and ground, there should be more distance between the two.

Thanks Eric, I always try to have water level about 3-4 inches below viewing area. In this case it was about 6" below viewing area because the area dropped off and we brought in truck loads of topsoil to raise up the area around the pond. Another view of the same pond can be seen here: koi pond water level ideas. If water level is made at 1-2 inches below viewing area, the fish can jump out easier and it will also be easier for animals to prey on your fish around the edges of the pond.
