    Pond(s) Description:
    11x6x3, 800g
I enjoy the outdoors. There is no place I'd rather be than out in nature. My love for nature led me to adding a small pond in my backyard to attract different species of animals and insects, mainly frogs and toads.

While I love my pond, what I'm most proud of is my native garden. It's a direct way of giving back wildlife. It's a little bit of habitat restoration in a place that was once dense with plant life and wildlife. Now it's nearly impossible to find an original prairie remnant. Restorations are more common, but still not common enough.

However, we can use our own backyards to create a small restoration of sorts. Give it a try. Add a few native plants. Then a few more. Maybe you'll decide to replace all of the non-native plants in your yard. Maybe you'll decide to create a micro-prairie. I started with an 8' by 8' section, and expanded to 200 sq. ft., as well as many other smaller areas dedicated to native plants. No matter what, just plant native plants. Every native plant you add will make a difference.
