Hi,

We are a married couple form Canada just about ready to build a new pond at our new home. We had one at our old place and I think we'll do something above ground (maybe 1/2down, 1/2 above) this time around. We may need some pointers on doing a pond like this.

I will start a thread to get some pointers and advice.

Look forward to chatting with you guys.

Welcome,
My pond is also somewhat above but mostly below ground. The top part of my pond is built with railroad ties. Thanks to the previous owners, I had a bunch laying around my yard so my cost was $0. I have also heard of people using cinder blocks or bricks. The advantage is that rain water cannot flood the pond (I have had that problem in the past) and that leaves cannot blow in from the ground.
