2013 Showa x taisho sanke breeding New Orleans

Well it's about that time again down here in Louisiana this year I have koi from japan with pappers. The female is a beautiful Showa from Niigata japan at about 19 inches and swollen with eggs been getting her ready for the past 6 months just recently added her to the breeding pool. The male is a taisho sanke from oya koi farm in Niigata japan he is about 18 inches he will be added to the breeding pool in the coming days probbly Monday. Pics to come soon.

Always nice to see you and your excellent work w/ the little koi babies. Bet you end up w/ some really nice ones w/ those two fancy breeders!
She does look quite robust :)

thanks everybody it should go pretty smooth this time. ive gotten pics of the male koi just never had the chance to and now they already done did the deed so heres pics of it.
i walked outside this am n what do i see n my breeding poolbunch of gross lets call it protein foam from their it took me 2 seconds to see my momma koi is skinny as hell and eating something off the spawning plants turns out her eggs needless to say the parnets are no longer n the brood pool. wow tht was fast.

That really was fast and glad you got to the eggs before they devoured them all! Now we get to watch them grow :razz:
Pretty parents should make some nice fish!

I agree with JW. Should be fun watching them grow and their colors develop and change.

I Hope to breed my 2 Showa,s in about two weeks
scratch that last year it got real warm early
on average its the late end of April

Thanks y'all I decided to get a few eggs and put them inside and cranked the heat to 78 def a low insemination rate one n four are winners after I looked at them inside they have eyes and are starting to jerk my guess is the first one should wiggle out of his egg in 4 hours or so hopefully Amanda gets home soon enough to take pics of them before they hatch. Can't wait to get the duds out.

well it looks like a have quite a few black base koi so hoping for showa all over the place also have white and yellow base pics of what im talking about.
first pics is 3 blacks and a white but its more like one black for every 5 white and yellow still exciting for me
