I caught two in one trap

Trying to put the snakes in the bucket they escaped, doing nothing but snapping at us and they are darn fast! Hubby kicking the one back to stop it from getting away as I snagged the other

Oh my gosh....those pictures of you and hubby trying to catch them is most dramatic - LOL ! I think I would have freaked out ! I know we have some snakes because all of our frogs and toads have completely disappeared. Hubby killed one last week...poor garter snake :(

Yeah, why now in 11 years only one snake sighted and not a Nessie, plain old garter snake in the pond.
Well, one Nessie just happens to stumble upon your pond. She tells all of her friends, who tell all of their friends, who continue to spread the word via snakey internet & other reptilian social media sites (that we lowly humans know absolutely nothing about) and.... there you go. Your pond is *on the map*.

Our house is far from any road, no neighbors have ponds. There is river which be a long snake wiggle to get here. Who knows. I am almost thinking the first Nessie was a pregnant female (which can have up to 30 baby Nessies) and she dropped her load in our pond. She was huge when I saw her last year.

I miss my frogs, zero frog noise now. I was seeing all the cute little baby frogs, no more. So the tads this year need to live to make new frogs next year.

You should see the video, I am going to try to convert it to you tube, those snakes are darn fast and they were striking non stop! Luckily I had told hubby lets put the bucket out away from all the plants and cars just in case. Hubby was doing the kick dance while I was snagging the bigger one with the snake stick. Then I grabbed the one he was kicking back away from escaping. When done I just started laughing it was so funny!

A good break from honey extraction!

I don't know what got at my pond last night but part of a rock wall was pulled apart as was a cedar tree covered in moss. Looks kinda industrious to have been a racoonnor possum. That leaves dear or bear don't like those roads.
