Hello Looking for any advice or help on this thing. Just purchased the house and want to get this thing fixed up. It was built in 2003. It has a Vert 600 pump in it and also a Leder Sub 420 at the bottom of the pond. There are two hoses at the top of the pond. That feed the water. i am thinking of starting at the bottom and cleaning the bottom out it had a ton of mud and debris in it. Then lay river rocks on the bottom of the pond be careful not to puncture the liner. But any ideas advice on this would be great. I was also thinking of removing the water fall rocks and replacing them with much larger rocks. Let me know your thoughts On this project it looks like a lot of time and could be fun. I think this thing just needs a little TLC.

How much water does it hold? If it's not a lot I would use it as a pondless. It's really all what you would like.

Hello and welcome to GPF! It looks narrow and deep, not necessarily a good combo for fish — assuming you want to use it for fish. What are the dimensions, and how much water does it hold? Have you filled it at all to see if it holds water or leaks!

I think it looks very striking, and will look lovely when it's ready!

Before changing anything, I suggest actually filling it up and seeing how it looks. It's hard to predict how a waterfall will turn out until you actually see it in action. That will also give you the chance to see how well the equipment works.

Your plan sounds like a good one. It is easier to keep a bare-bottom pond cleaner than one that has gravel at the bottom, but if you prefer a layer of rocks, that's up to you!

Someone suggested you wanted it to be a pondless water feature? If so, you can get boxes that you place in the pond that will hold up a layer of rocks and let the water filter down through below where the pump is. This is supposed to be easier to keep clean than a fish pond.

Anyway, it's really cool. I am excited to see what you do with it!

Welcome to the GPF!

In my opinion, a few larger rocks always end up looking better than a lot of small ones. But you have good bones for a lovely water feature either way you go!

welcome and first make sure the liner is in good shape and does not leak .You do not want to get done and find out the pond or waterfall leaks somewhere
