I am building approximately a 8,000 gallon pond for my ducks and geese. We have also made the base for a large bog (8 foot diameter). I am really getting in the weeds with picking a filtration system.
I am thinking about my skimmer and bottom drains connecting to a vortex, then maybe a bead or pressure filter and then going into my bog. The water will return to the pond via a 20foot stream and then TPRs inside the pond. I would be okay with building my own filtration system; my husband however wants a pre-built system.
I ruled out an anoxic system simply because I am tired of pouring concrete and don't want a new concrete area.
We live in south Texas and are in a hurricane zone, zone 9b-10 for gardening so no frost line and we have only sandy soil. So anything that is installed will need to be elevated to limit the damage when our next hurricane arrives.
Anyone have any ideas on a pump+filter combination?
