We kept finding fish food missing, so the head guy began setting the trap
about 10 days ago thinking we were going to catch a coon...Lo and behold
it was a baby possum...Before releasing him everyday, Cliff feeds him and
gives him water...Today he ate a half chicken breast, orange, apple,
and some pretzels.
after breakfast the little guy exits the trap and scoots under
our little supply cabinet on our deck. He made himself at home in a bucket
of leaves inside the cabinet where he sleeps all day...

I took a video today, the noise you hear is blue jays, we have a flock of
them and a flock of downy woodpeckers born in our yard.

We have two suet feeders and a hollow rock that I fill with bread, cookies
crackers and cereal for the birds. You'll see the blue jay eating from the rock,
however, the woodpecker was behind the suet feeder.

Cliff named him Pogo...We never knew Possums were so docile and friendly.

My friend is a Opossum rehabber, I have to check with her to make sure
I'm feeding him correctly.

Ya know, my son stopped by today to drop off his dog for us to watch.

So, Cliff took our little grand daughters out to see Pogo. He opens the cabinet doors
and pulls out the bucket...POGO looks up and was quite annoyed that he was
disturbed from his nap.. LOL..I can't believe it, what does he think, all Possums
have it so good???

DL, they are nocturnal...the video was shot in the early morning,
after he had his breakfast feast, he went to bed for the rest of the day.

I took this shot on June 24th, see his little hands and opposable thumbs.
