With the way my water lettuce took off, starting at 20 plants a little over a month ago, I've got rid of nearly 125 plants, and that is just in my settling chamber. That cleared a one foot by one foot hole. We had added a baby turtle a week ago, that was about 1". Hadn't seen him, so we figured he ended up in the settling chamber.
The wife was looking and noticed a baby fish. It is orange and about 1" in length. Only saw one, but there could be more. The settling chamber would be the safest place, as there is only snails and the baby turtle that can get into there, through the bottom drain.
