ok so first off I'm new to the site looks like a great place my names Shawn and im 13 And I love pond and fish. I just built my first REAL sized pond last year and I made a huge error in construction I forgot a skimmer. So I have been surfing the internet on how to add one to a existing pond and couldn't find much And hers where im at. I have seen those floating skimers and think they are as ugly as heck. I have seen the strap on ones and I dont really want to give up my shevle space so I really want to add a liner connected one. So Im thinking of going with a tetera pond skimmer and so how would I go about doing this should I drain the pond put the fish in a holfing tank and do it like I was building the pond or is it just not possible. oh and btw hers some other info on my pond
2 pumps one for bog filter one is 750 GPH one is 600 gph
pond about 850 gal and has a tetra gravity filter w/9w uv
thanks guys!!

Welcome to our group!

If you get a skimmer that is installed cut into the liner, you would only need to lower the water level below the lowest edge of the skimmer, plus a few inches for working room. You could then install it. You will need to clean the liner well (acetone) before you install to remove dirt debris. I installed mine (pool skimmer) used the gasket plus some pl roofing goop for over protection of leaking. No leaks at all.

I installed the skimmer a year plus after I had the pond up and running. We had it dug in, but the liner not cut.
