We are getting ready to start up the new pond. Currently it is 3/4 full with all new water. Should I use treated tap water to top it off or water from the old pond? I would have to run the older water thru a fines filter as we have plants and a bog on the old pond and there is some suspended material in it. The temps should be the same as the water in the new pond has been setting for 3 days. We are not planning on putting plants in the new pond other than floating planters. Amount of water in question would be about 800-900 gallons. Thanks-

I would throw the hose in and fill it up and add chlorine remover at the same time.
When are you going to move the fish ?

Thanks for the advice Dr. Case. Going to try to move the 5 largest tomorrow and see how many of the 1 year olds and fry we catch in the process. I've got 2 150 gal. stock tanks set up to sell the ones we are not keeping.
