Greetings all,

Long time no post! Any how now that the the weather has cooled down , only 80 the last few days , I am just about ready to remove my 800 gallon pond and up grade to about 3000 gl . While gatering supplies and materials and thinking things thru I was wondering if anyone has had a pump sitting on a liner wear thru it from vibration ? Seems to me I should put something under it to protect the liner . Thoughts ?

Pond on my freinds !

I never put my pump on the bottom most put it on a crate or I actually have a pipe across my pond and use nylon rope and have the pump tied to the pipe hanging 2 feet under and since the pond is a little over 4 ft. deep it will not empty the pond or cannot be knocked

I don't think it shows here but will see
off the crate

No, I had my pump sit on the liner for years. But then it was in a plastic sieve bucket with matting.

I like to keep mine up a foot or so off the bottom so in case a catastrophe should happen it won't drain all my pond dry but I wouldn't think it would do any damage to the liner just sitting there doing it's thing. If your worried about it just stick a spare square of liner under it for added protection.

I am a overprotective of the liner type, under rocks, piece of liner, under anything heavy extra piece of liner. My pump is external so it is not an issue for me ie pump and liner

The reason I tie my pump to the pipe is that it makes it easy to get to and easy for me to move around .I can also just loosen the rope and drop it or raise it up .I found the pipe makes it easier to keep the prefilter cleaned out when koi destroy any thing it always clogs my pump
