Does anyone have a recommended source, perhaps somewhere with a low price, for buying pond liner? I tried buying from pondliner.com, but the shipping will be $300, so wonder if there is a more affordable route.

webbs has great prices, but shipping can sometimes bite a little bit, so amazon is my first go to place ( free and fast shipping almost all the time! ) although if the price there exceeds the price of item plus shipping at webbs I would obviously go there.

We purchased a custom size liner from BTL Liners. Installed it ourselves (60'x40') last fall. Less expensive, less weight, therefore less shipping $$.

My liner for the pond itself came in a Half Off Ponds kit bought on Amazon. The liner for the waterfall was purchased separately on Amazon. A 5x15 ft section of 45 mil EPDM Firestone brand was around $68 with free shipping.

Both my liners came from non pond places. First one came from a roofing company. Was just as good as the pond store ones. They even had thicker choices and I went up a thickness from the normal pond ones. The second one I bought for my new pond was bought from an irrigation company near us. Both those liners were of high quality EPDM rubber and all I did was rinse them off good on our driveway before installing in my pond. They were cheaper than the ones online and in the pond store near us. We brought them home in our truck. When you get your liner wherever keep as much of the liner around the edge that you can and don't cut it, just tuck it under as you never know when you might need pull it up from around the edge for adjustments.

The last liner I bought (for my bog build) was from American Talapia (online). It was 20 x 12 and cost $139. The shipping was free. However, I don't think they sell EPDM. The liner I bought was HDRPE which is much lighter, but it's supposed to be just as good. It's also a bit stiffer, but in my opinion it wasn't too bad. It just takes some patience folding the corners. Think of wrapping a gift.
They say with HDRPE, In most cases, you don't need an underlayment. I guess that depends on your soil. I live in PA and my soil is clay and rocky. I was careful to remove any suspected rocks and just laid the liner right on the soil, no underlayment.

My pond is EPDM and my bog is HDRPE.

If you go with HDRPE, make sure it has the "R" indicating reinforced.
