Reason it went down is the end of the year a lot of people take some of the money before next tax season .At least that is what my son said .I know nothing about this stuff though

I would say he is right, plus it always "adjusts" after a big spike like we've seen this past week or so.

My husband is serious about buying some, are there any scams one should watch out for?
Has anyone here ever cashed in actual money from an investment?

While many of them are very reputable, I would stay away from independent sellers. Why take any chance of getting someone who is trying to make a quick buck off of you. My recommendation is to buy Bitcoin from Coinbase...largest broker of Bitcoin in the US, and I think the world right now. If he buys it through Coinbase, have him use my referral ID: https://www.coinbase.com/join/59fac51e719d53021a565d8e If/when he buys at least $100 worth of Bitcoin, both he and I will get $10/worth for free. Once he joins, he will get his own referral ID if he knows anyone who wants to buy in. There is no limit to how many times a Coinbase member can get an extra $10 for referring someone...of course at $16,430 a coin right now, $10 doesn't buy a lot of Bitcoin, but every $10 gets you more for free. I still have my original 1/10th of a coin that I purchased in late 2017 for $685. Today, it is worth $1659.
