I am working on an article for this Forum along with a similar post for my Blog. I need to know how familiar the members of this group are with Archaea. This will determine how 'in-depth' the article will be,

I've heard of them and know that they are a kingdom single celled organisms that some people believe are closer to animals than to bacteria. I have no idea what they "do" or what their relevance to a pond is.
