Are my fish srarting yo hibernate or are tehy sick!

For the last 3 days all of my fish have stayed sort of huddled up in the corner together at the bottom in the deep end.
They wont come up to eat and barely move when I agitate the water nearby-and when they do move its very fast to the other side of the pond and try to hide.

I dont know much about ponds but I dont thik its cool enough yet for them to hibernate-I live in Texas and the night time lows havent gotten below 65, and warms up in the mid eighties.

Ive checked the water and everything was within range.
I have a couple of goldfish less that 2 -3 inches- 2 Koi, 21/2 inches, and a couplel of small comets.
They also seem to be maybe laying/on thier side a little?My pond is about 200 gl. and 18in shallow 30in deep.
Does anyone know what this might be? Thanks

How long ave they been in the pond? That sounds like they are scared. Can you scrape and scope for bugs?

About half of them have been in there for about 6 mos., the other half about 6 weeks.
They were all eating well and coming to the top , almost as if they were starving, when I would feed them.
My presence, or the dog, or grandkids never really bothered them. Now when I go out there and they see me they will sometimes dart very fast back and forth across the pond like they are absolutely terrified or something!! then settle down back in the shadows.
They havent eaten any fish food now in about 4 days.

Mine where like that when i first moved my fish into the pond, left them in there for about 4 days and removed them :bowdown:.

Please provide specifics of what water parameters you checked.
What is the filtration like?
If it is not water quality, it may be that the pond is getting visited by an unwelcomed guest and they are scared. ???

My koi behave the same way.

They used to swim around the bottom of the pond but when I finished catproofing my backyard fence and installed a pet door, the cats began terrorizing the local critters. In the space of one week, they brought me a dead pigeon, one frog, and three lizards. I have noticed that they enjoy crouching by the edge of the pond where they stare intently at the fish.

The deepest part of my pond is four feet deep. To give the fish some concealment, I've added a large ceramic pot that has bee submerged and tilted on its side. I have also added a large slab of flagstone that stretches from one plant shelf to the other, across the deepest section of the pond.

My suggest is for you that you must use umbrella grass for your pond. In this grass fishes are hidden in them. This grass also control your ponds temperature. If you don't use umbrella grass than use any other for shed all fishes.
