Plants starting to bloom and coming alive today. Even the fish got fed today, mostly to save my Hornwort.

Little wildlife pond in the center w/ azolla and a small reed plant growing.

Just a few more.
I never really could figure out what this was. It loses it's leaves each fall and comes back every Spring but never really grows much.

My semi hardy European Fan Palm trying to make a comeback. All the leaves got frozen so I cut them off and now little new ones are coming back. Next winter I will cover it.

I pulled these out of a ditch and thought they might be watercress but not sure. They are getting little white blooms on them. I have them stuck in between the rocks around the edge of the pond w/ roots in water.

And the hummers are back.

That bleeding heart looks huge. Have you ever split them before?

Oh yes they are easy to split. That is how I got mine. I found them in a vacant lot and went back in the fall a few yrs ago and dug them up and there were tons of splits so I planted them here and there. I have never split them since I got them but I imagine I will have to someday. They say fall is the best time to dig them up and divide them. They get so big they sometimes fall over and I have to cut off the bent ones. They are blooming fools now:)

I started feeding the hummers this year and MAN, they are brazen little things -- I had no idea, lol! Your sanctuary is truly beautiful! Thank you for sharing!

PS - LOVE the chain tree (among other things) That's on my "one day" list for sure!

Very nice. It's amazing how fast the transformation happens but definitely taking a little longer this year for sure.
