I've had a pond on my property for 16yrs. I dig it out every few years and make it bigger. There's no liner. The ground on my property is all clay. I'm on a well so a little bit of leakage is no big deal. Up until this year it had no filter system. I would run fresh water in and it would overflow out into my garden. The pond was about 15ft in diameter about 3ft at the deepest. This year I dug it out to 25ft in diameter and 4ft deep. I've built a bog filter but haven't put any plants in it yet.

I'd ask if you've had success with your duck pond, but after 16 years I would guess the answer is yes!

What kind of ducks do you have?

Since you like to garden, you're going to LOVE all the plants you can grow in your bog! And your pond will thank you for it.

Not sure what kind of ducks this year. I bought them from Cal ranch. I did have Runners but they were old and died off one buy one or got killed by predators. Right now there's 4 white ducks but they are not the ones I plan on keeping. I think you can see them if you zoom in.

I'm trying to figure out what plants to put in the bog. I'm in zone 7 It gets down to single digits a few times each winter and snows a few times each winter as much as 2ft sometimes. I'm sure there's gonna be some die off. Some plants will have to be brought inside.
