I have had people here that paid $2000 for a koi elsewhere bicker with me over $5 on a $60 Koi.
You have to have thick skin and be educated on Koi when dealing with buyers.

A blue koi could be worth a lot in the right group of buyers. The problem is finding that buyer.

I will do some more reading up about koi, but so hard to find out where my koi came from and exactly what type of koi it is.

I have purchased several koi that had some blue coloring but it seems that after a couple of years the color fades. My large female was half blue when I got her but the coloring is gone now. Her offspring still have blue color to them. I have read that the diet has a lot to do with keeping the color but can't find a blue color food. Maybe blueberries??

My blue one has been that colour since it was tiny, all so mine is kept in tank so am feeding it the best goldfish food. Aquarian advanced nutrition, which it says it brings out natural colours on the fish. I however haven't tried to feed them anything different.

Indoors, they are not exposed to UV. Once they are, it brings out their true colors. It could be that the blue may go away when that happens.
