Bog filter question

I want to make a bog filter with a 40gal plastic tub placed next to the pond. Tub is 13 inches high. I want to add a cleanout valve at the bottom of the tub though. But I would also like to bury the tub about 7 inches into the ground. Would the cleanout still work if I elbowed it upwards back to ground level. Or is there another option for a cleanout on a buried bog .
Second question is about pea stone. I am using larger rocks at the bottom finished off with about 7 inches of pea stone. Is 7 inches enough and can I place window screen over larger rocks before adding pea stone. My pea stone has alot of very tiny pieces and I'm afraid they will fall through and clog my water flow slots in distribution pipe. I saw another video where someone used laundry bags, cloth bags with perforations, and put his pea stones in those and placed them in bog.

Window screen is not advised as debris will not take long to clog the screen. Instead use 3/4 inch river rock for a layer or two.
Secondly if your talking home depot pebble peastone it is way to fine to use as a bog imo. I just used some in my pond but as a filler between the 3/4 gravel filling what would normals be spaces for debris. I'm not looking for water flow in this area , the exact reverse actualy.
Is 7 inches enough of actual 3/8 pea stone that IS the size of peas yes, I would say so .
Pictures of your pond would help to seeing your design is adequate.

I will be removing the wooden filtration house, and all of the stone work behind the green Cyprus tree. The whole left side will be all soil. Tree gets moved to back left corner and 40 gal tub beside pond . I hope the pea gravel is good enough took me 5 hours to wash it lol. The other rocks are the different size layers I was going to use

Unfortunately the 3/8 pea stone is probably the worst for sizing in the industry. As you can see there are lots of 1/8 x 1/8 inch gravel and even more 1/4 x 1/4 but the good news is in your a small space I would guess your pump will be strong enough to push the water through . It's also small enough if the flow does get restricted down the road. a dozen shovel fulls and a grading screen you can be back to square one quickly.
I have 38 yards of 3/4 gravel alone in one bog it would take weeks to clean. Thus why I use only 3/4 with a dusting of peastone.

Maybe I should find a grading screen somewhere.
And what are your thoughts about my 1 question in post. If I buried my container. How can I still flush it out

If you can go lower than the bottom of the bog with a hose you can start a syphon but nothing beating the head pressure when it just empties out the bottom . When the water has to lift with a syphon it does work but only as good as your draw is . It's just harder to get the build up to flush out.

Ok I will figure something out.
Also i found this roll of screen. Exactly 3/8 inch squares. Going to make a screen.
Thanks for your input

Like I said in a small filter you should be fine but there's smaller it gets the more it will trap the sooner it could become a problem
