Bog working?

See picture. Is this how the bog should look with gravel above water or should all the gravel be under water? Plants are just starting to grow. Everything is from Lowe’s their pond plants.

My bog has some gravel above water, some gravel below water, some gravel right at water level. The gravel settles. The plants don't seem to care.

Same with mine - I move gravel around to plant things too, so it's kind of always changing. If you have tiny plants to start, you may want to prop them up a bit or lift them out of the water - gravel is great for planting. Way easier than dirt!
