Bottle Brushes for DIY Filter

I have seen numerous pix and references to the large diameter bottle brushes used in filters. They appear to be four to six inches in diameter and made of nylon or some poly plastic. Where have you purchased these, in bulk at a reasonable price? I was cruising the net looking for some of these and most seem unfit or impractical for the purpose or else too expensive for my tastes.
