Box turtle food gelatin

I was reading about the lady who makes box turtle food with gelatin. My question is how much olive oil did you put in? I just started adding olive oil and I put one quarter of a teaspoon in a cup of turtle food. He seems to like it. He had a really dry shell and skin plus he had trouble going to the bathroom. This seems to help. But I had another question, why did you say you would get cod liver oil for future use? Did he not like it? Or aren't they supposed to eat it. I compared both online and it seems olive oil is healthier than cod liver oil. Please let me know. Thank you!
