well im thinking that ill have one skimmer just with a basket and the 2 bottom drains with the skimmer all going to the suction on the 2 pumps im using( in front of the pumps will be strainier caniters to catch some of the ickies) then the pumps and then the press filter canister after that im not sure if i should use a UV light or a ion thingy that i came across.

Than you all what I'm wondering is what is the best filter a skimmer with UV and bio filters, water fall bio system or, a pressurized system if they all work that's great then I want the most user friendly. Ty hope to hear from ya

I use a bog, so not filter smart i.e. from using one, from what I have read, those with filters like the diy filters the best, check that section of the forum. If you put in a bottom drain in the filter, all you need to do is drain it off and on to get of the muck. Cheaper than buying one. Stay away from pressurized filters, most say they don't like them.

I don't use uv, have no algae issues, have a pool skimmer for my pond. You can put in a nice water box with a weir, plant it or put in filters as another spot of filtration for your pond.

I do not use a UV, I have a savio skimmer, savio filter falls, and a laguna filter falls no pressurized system. If I had to do it over again I would have found this forum 6 years ago and built my own filters (would have been a lot cheaper) and put in a bottom drain and if I had the space I would put in a bog.

http://www.advantageplugandplay.com/10000_plug_and_play.php this is kinda what im looking at for a system i will check out some of the home made filters everything i have read for KOI say these pressureized filters are a must.????? any thoughts

HoLy MoThEr, Look at that price tag! I dont know anything about these pressurized filters, but a LOT of people here will tell you that they have koi ponds with cystal clear water without a filter such as that.

My pond is tiny compared to what you are building (little over 1000 gallons) but I run one 360gph pump inside a mechanical filter at the bottom on the pond, and a 900gph through a small biofilter, both filters were DIY for under $20, and I have no problem seeing the bottom 4 foot down when the sun is shining, and i have 5 koi and probably 15 goldfish in my pond.

http://www.pondsonlinecanada.com/filter6d.htm and ill get the SP3600

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/EVOLUTION-ES...709?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e661027ed and well these bad boys look nice

http://www.pondsonlinecanada.com/seq1000.htm and 2 of these priming pot/ strainers

So now for all of that i was gonna buy that system that comes all as one but for just over$5K cost is high and then i was looking at a web site ONLINEPONDS.CA wich is good a lil better on price but still costly, NOW for ebay total approx. COST $1625 with shipping in there minus piping im liking this way better let me know what you think???

IMO I'd toss these 2 things out http://www.ebay.ca/itm/7300-Pond-Fi...562?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f0bbbef7a

The only reason I say that, is I have one similar to that sitting in my shed right now that my grandparents gave me for free because they didn't like it, but I'd rather use my 5 gallon bucket with holes drilled in it. Some others may chime in and say they work great, but I just looked at it and decided that what I had made myself worked just fine.
