Liner was just able to fit as I bought an end of season cut piece for half price, could be larger, might add extra liner for next year. Gravity filter with 1500 gal/hr pump. Yes I know filtration could be better, but it's only seasonal setup.

It does slightly bow out in the center maybe 1/2 inch but I built it strong. About 700 US gal. Small fry tub 100 US gal. Garage is heated to 38-40 F so they don't eat much all winter.

Any questions on build just ask.

Thanks
Wayne

Looks great and I'm glad your fish overwintered safely :) If you want to add some easy biological filtration, I've seen ponds where they just lay boards over the pond and set up a DIY shower on the boards. over the pond.

Nope none. But I did 2 winters ago in parts of walls where the insulation did not have vapor barrier cover. Without the barrier the plywood walls sweated and then frosted up under the insulation.

I might make it 11' x 5' x 40" for next winter which should put it at 1000 gal aprox. My original plan was 12' long but decided against it as I was concerned about how strong it would be to hold the water. Now I know if built well that size is no problem.

Just had a look at the photo lineup. The photo of just the wood frame shot, it looks like the wood is warped or a crappy build. Not the case, some of them were taken with just an I-phone, so not the best quality. I can tell you it is all straight and tight.

OR, what about using one of those Intex above-ground pools? I think they tend to be round, so maybe space is a concern, but you should be able to get a deal on one as summer winds down.

Lots of folks use these in the ponding world.
Hello, I'm thinking about getting a 10' x 10' x 30" high like you have linked. I'm wondering do you know if the ponders used that crappy filter pump or somehow capped it off. Leak problems?
THanks
Wayne
